To correct my solution: it is special keyFn + F7 which toggles touchpad.
Accidentally I must have pressed this sometime after installation.
I mixed it with Alt+F7 which enables graphical Desktop when I switched from
console (Alt+F1 ... Alt+F6) to Desktop.

To clarify, is the touchpad disabled by default when the laptop comes up
from either a shutdown or a restart?

Solution:
On Acer Aspire E3-112 there is a special key for toggling Touchpad: ::Alt +
F7 !!!
This was the reason my mouse pointer of touchpad was absent!
