Boot hangs with kernel
@Warren, thats for testiong the 3.13 upstream stable kernel and
confirming it still has the bug. Were you able to confirm the latest
mainline kernel, mentined in comment #9 did in fact solve the bug. If
it did, then we can perform a "Reverse" bisect to identify the commit
that fixes this.

Yo
Joseph, thanks for the tip and link. I Installed linux-
image-3.13.11-03131107-generic_3.13.11-03131107.201409181736_amd64.deb,
and related headers . Unfortunately the problem persists in that
version.

I installed linux-

since had no problems over about a dozen boots. I hesitate to positively
declare that this is fixed in upstream kernels, but it looks very

Apparently, after taking a look, only with the Utopic based kernels.
And funny thing. I installed Utopic (which didn't work) and then Trusty (which
did) alongside it, and suddenly when the dual-boot option was present, I could
boot into both without a problem. Now I'm really confused.
So my pr
@Susan, do you also have issues with 3.13.0-32 and newer kernels or only
the Utopic 3.16 based kernels?

I thought you might want to see another lspci.
This bug is not happening on my old Lenovo X230 tablet, but is present on my

I appear to have the same problem on a new Lubuntu install. Today's
Lubuntu Utopic daily build installed correctly and will not boot for me
on a new machine. The Trusty installs and runs perfectly, but when I
upgrade the system to Utopic, it no longer boots.
