Hi Luis,
First, be sure that the new policy is applied with the "apt-cache policy": the
" *** " package will be used on next installation.
Then, you can remove the package with:
apt-get remove --purge linux-headers-6.8.0-45 linux-headers-6.8.0-45-generic
linux-image-6.8.0-45-generic linux-modul
On my system I found that the modules package was provided by a wrong
source, so I changed the source priority and re-installed the kernel and
the issue is gone.

I investigated the related keyboard issue further and noticed that the
module loading fails with "BPF: invalid name/failed to validate module"

Hi all, I'm new here! I want to report the same bug in my pc (ACER
aspire ES1-111M-C1LE). I installed xubuntu 17.10 and since then it is
impossible for me to enter or modify the bios. Should I report my bug
somewhere? has the cause been found (over intel spi)?

I want to report that I got the same bug under Ubuntu 16.04 with hardware
enablement stack. The bug came with a recent update of the linux-generic-hwe, I
now have 4.8.0.48.20 and I am affected.
I also have an XPS 9550 with the 512GB Samsung NVMe. Was the APST support
backported to 4.8?

Unfortunately the destination USB drive got its backup GPT corrupted after oder
during the installation. The USB is not booting any more. It was a Lexar
JumpDrive S45 128GB USB 3.0 Flash Drive. Even worse there it refuses to be
reformatted or repartitioned. So there no way to reproduce

I just updated to xubuntu 16.04 and it did not work out of the box.
However the folder QCA6164 in /lib/firmware/ath10k is already there and
I got it to work by simple renaming the folders:
sudo mv /lib/firmware/ath10k/QCA6174/ /lib/firmware/ath10k/QCA6174_moved/
sudo mv /lib/firmware/ath10k/QCA616

thunderbolt worked, but I upgreded the kernel version in order to have
native support for skylake and intel grafics.
Recently I tried the live of ubuntu mate 16.04 beta1, but the issue on
the thunderbolt is still there.

I runned again

and rebooted and now it works. I'm not sure why... I get between 0 and
57% packet loss with ping.
