Sorry, but I haven't gotten around to trying the last kernel you posted.
In the meantime, Xenial had a new kernel released: 4.4.0-25-generic. In
this latest kernel, I can now dock without everything freezing - yay!
However, I now can't undock without everything freezing - booo!
Somehow
It just happens with the last two kernels you linked to.

Sorry for the late reply. I've tried testing both those kernels, but couldn't
boot wither either of them: I have full disk encryption set up on this laptop,
and when booting these kernels I'm unable to enter my decryption password. The

I can confirm that this still happens in the kernel from -proposed,
although it's possible it's less frequent (not sure about that, I may be
mistaken). I've added the appropriate tag back to the bug.

Ugh - sorry about this, but I realise I've messed up. I assumed that
when you install a new kernel package it becomes the default kernel that
grub boots. I now know that's not the case.
I've gone back and re-tested all the mainline kernels: 4.2.0, 4.3.0,
4.4.0, and 4.6.0 all work perfectly with re
