thanks for responding, I can see that it is there but it is still not
working for me,
the above three relevant commands' output are as follows:

Hello,
Today I updated to ubuntu 24.04 LTS and the camera is still not working
without a patch, and the one there explicitly states that it is for
ubuntu 22.04.
I hope someone helps to fix it again.

the camera is still not working,

I have the same problem and I followed the instructions in #19 and rebooted but
the camera still not working.
I have: acer aspire A715-51G and the camera is: 0408:4033 Quanta Computer, Inc.
ACER HD User Facing
and what I get on the following commands are:
sudo dmesg | grep uvc
# nothing
