I bought a new laptop Asus GM501GS, and the touch-pad is not working. I
tried adding i8042.reset, i8042.nohup, etc. And nothing worked. Besides,
when installed Ubuntu, the touch-pad also stopped working in BIOS and
Windows.
When I delete Ubuntu partition and fresh install Win
I seem to have had the issue for a long long time. Without knowing i had
the issue i kept using Ubuntu 17.10 and never really had any use for
another OS. What i did in error then was i was trying to delete a
partition from a USB drive to try to convert my y50-70 to a Hackintosh.

Installer fails to detect the XGBE network interface on AMD Overdrive,
making it impossible to proceed with the network installer.
Checking the kernel udeb modules, we're missing amd-xgbe as part of nic-
modules.

just installed Xubuntu 16.04, and of course I was stuck with black
