The issue seems to have been resolved for me with 5.13.0-7620, while it
was still broken with 5.13.0-7614. I realize these are System76 specific
kernels, but maybe the trend is the same for the corresponding 5.13.0-20
and 5.13.0-14.

Thanks for that. Happy to report that
5.14.0-051400rc5drmtip20210809-generic works for me.
Also happy to provide specific logging of DRM of the working

I seem to have very similar issues. Using a Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Carbon
7th gen and ThinkPad USB-C Dock Gen 2. But I also see this on a
different docking station. I'm pretty sure they are both using USB-C DP-
alt mode.
When I boot my laptop connected to the docking stations, I can see BIOS

Also using a Lenovo X1 7th generation. I can confirm that everything
works using 5.3.0-20. I suspect that I've compared to Joel above me,

I can confirm this is currently an issue on the Lenovo X1 Carbon 7th
gen. I did some testing with the current 19.10 kernel
(5.3.0-18-generic), and posted my results to this github issue for the
SOF project [1].
They confirmed this is most likely an issue with the kernel config for
Ubuntu. And also
Dear Dan, user reshen on the github Docker issue thread [1] did some

the issue using that version. I've also done testing using the ubuntu
mainline kernel builds and also not been able to reproduce the issue
anymore.

Dan, thanks for your work. I've tried your PPA with the included patch
(4.4.0-36-generic #55hf1403152v20160916b1-Ubuntu). As I've also reported
on the Github docker issue [1], this does not fix the issue for me.
Would it help you test again with this patch, and with your debug
patches included?
