I updated the kernel to mainline 5.5.0-050500rc4-generic #201912291930
,but now I get this in dmesg:

I can test it for some time, but I had to disable secure boot to run it.

I'm using Lenovo Thinkpad t490 with ThinkPad Thunderbolt 3 Dock Gen 2.
When I boot Ubuntu with dock connected to thunderbolt port, there is a problem
with network connection. Usb network device is available and trying to connect.
Then I get connection failed message.

I have the same exact issue on Acer Aspire One A110 (ZG5). In my case
this happened after upgrade from 17.04 to 17.10. The workarounds are
either pass nomodeset option to kernel at boot, or just choose the
previous kernel (4.10 in my case). The latter solution gives me correct

Same issue reoccured here, on my dell-vostro 3560.
It's 07.03.2015!!! No network after fresh install!! Horrible!!
Solution from #11 worked well, but had to buy a network cable first!
