Same deal here on 4.8.0-34-generic with 16.04. Just got a Bluetooth
headset hoping they were less terrible than they were years ago. I was
excited that it worked well, sounded great, etc., but here we are with
the operating system being the one with issues.
I tried the workarounds above. Once the
I installed 4.8 hwe edge from the repositories on my 16.04 system

Hi there Christopher. I tried 3.13.10 and I didn't have any issues. I
was able to suspend (on lid close) and resume a dozen times in a row.
Back on 3.19.0.15, it oddly has suspended, but I have difficulty
replicating it. For example, on a fresh boot I suspended on lid close
once. But then I resumed
Hi there, Christopher. I just tried that kernel. It's reading as:
4.0.0-04rc4-generic via uname -r.
Same deal in this case as before. Suspend on lid close does not work,
but selecting suspend from the gear menu in the upper right successfully
suspends the laptop.

I installed today's daily build of 15.04. Following the install, I did a
complete dist-upgrade. I pulled in kernel 3.14 as well as 4.0 from the
following sources.
3.14 = http://kernel.ubuntu.com/~kernel-ppa/mainline/v3.14.4-utopic/
4.0 = http://kernel.ubuntu.com/~kernel-ppa/mainline/daily/current/
I'll swap out to my other SSD later and spin up 15.04 again to test.
Though for now it might be worth mentioning that I did install Manjaro
Linux on a 2nd partition to tinker with some newer packages with the
AUR. It's on kernel 3.16, and like i said, different partition but same

Hello friends. I fired up 15.04 beta on my Toshiba Z835 ultrabook. Upon

Not to sound pessimistic, but there seems to be a rather wild different
between one 7260 to the next 7260. Myself and two co-workers got the
same XPS 13 with Ubuntu. The other two had no issues, while I would
disconnect continuously, often times even when we were in the same room.

It sounds like the 7260 wireless card is an all around headache for
pretty much any operating system. To date I have heard of a great deal
of users with issues on Windows 7, 8, 8.1, Ubuntu, Mint, Fedora, Arch,
and Debian. Perhaps others, but those are the specific ones I recall.

Hello friends. I have a Dell Latitude E7440 that came with Ubuntu on it.

This wireless card is extremely problematic on any operating system.
Users from Windows 7, 8, 8.1, BSD, Arch, Gentoo, Ubuntu have all
reported the exact same issue. A quick Google search of this card
reveals
Eh, that'd be something different then... Unless Meraki, Linksys, Dlink,
Netgear, and Aruba all have the same bug in their APs. :(

Thanks, Seth. I wasn't necessarily suggesting that the to-be-filed bug
is a 'dup', but moreso just acknowledging the fact that a lot of users
as mentioned above still have problems. If these users don't have a

Would it be okay to have the new bug linked here? (as in, this bug is
fixed but if you're still having problems follow bug #12345678?) I'd
like to be the one to report the bug, but given that I'm on the brink of
swapping this laptop with another XPS 13 from Dell that doesn't have the

Well, that's disappointing. As per the dmesg, I am indeed running

This bug is not fixed.

I just ran sha1sum against the download in that link above as well as

Thanks for your tip, but I'm a little confused. I ran grep before I

I mirror Mike's question. As far as I can understand, I'm on the 7

The only kernels I was able to test were 22-generic and 23-generic of
