Hi Joseph, Thanks for writing back. I did try with switching between upstream 4.8.0 and 4.8.6 and back, neither fixed it. However once I booted into my old 3.19 kernel the symptom went away.I may also add that the laptop had been shut down beforehand for a good number of hours (not plugged in).
