Same here on Lenovo Thinkpad T490 with i915 and external monitor
attached via Thunderbolt. External monitor goes black several times a
day.
Only when I move the mouse cursor into the lower 10% part of the monitor
screen. It stays black if I don't move the mouse. Once I move the mouse,

Ok, I cloned ubuntu/ubuntu-saucy.git (ok?) and checked out mybisect.
With git I can find the tag v3.10-rc1, but not the tag for v3.9.11. What
do I need to look for?

I don't know what else to say than my initial description of the
problem.
Here is a _quick_ video of the boot/login process WITH the camera
