Hi,
we have discovered the exact same issue using an HP Zbook 15 G6 and an
up-to-date Ubuntu 20.04 installation.
- With standard settings, the laptop freezes at the login screen
- nomodeset does not stop the freezes from being happening
- when using snd-hda-intel dmic_detect=0 as a kernel paramet
