I managed to capture a dmesg running off the live USB. Similar to what
was in the video, same ISO image.

Ok, I tested with a fresh ISO from:

downloaded a few hours ago. Booting off of a USB flash drive, it does
successfully leave the screen on, set video mode to 1920x1080, and have
a working framebuffer console. Unfortunately, it se

machine even with the screen blanked so I should be able to pull logs
from it.

After upgrading my laptop to the 14.10 alpha release, I no longer get
any display after booting past GRUB. I select Ubuntu from the GRUB menu
and then the display shuts completely off (including backlight) and
