I have a Wifi dongle, model "6d1320 usb wave 54", that is not always
immediately recognized by the system (sometimes it takes several minutes
to start working). With the last kernel update, it causes the boot
process to hang (I kept receiving messages that
yep not me too, but me to over six months of it now and still trying to fix
problem
the only bit of usefull information i have is changing your log in manager to
gdm3 stops most of the blue screens crashes and cant login problems

scrabjon's solution worked for me as well. HP Probook 440g8 user here.
Like mehstar, my wifi was also getting enabled, but not able to scan for
networks. In my case there were 3 files that needed to be deleted via
terminal - v59, v63, and v66.
