I did more debug. I found in the GNOME desktop the dbus message is
correct.
When I boot up from bottom-up mode, the value of
net.hadess.SensorPorxy.AccelerometerOrientation is "bottom-up", after
that, I change to normal mode, I found the value is "normal". But the
screen is totally revert.

Unfortunately, the patch does not seem to solve the problem. Running
Ubuntu 18.04 LTS with kernel 4.15.0-64, the crash still occurs with the

I made the switch to 19.10 and the problem is the same in the logs.
There is a slight difference however, the screen doesn't flicker any
more upon the change request. I suppose it now detects the adjusted
modeline is the same as the current one, hence nothing to do.

i also tried using the "source-branch: raspi2" argument in the
snapcraft.yaml instead of using teh master branch and the "source-tag:"
option, but this results in the same big size ...
additionally i'd like to remark that due to the transactional nature of
UbuntuCore we need to keep the kernel thr

There is a new kernel in -proposed that should fix these USB issues as
well as the KVM support. There is still a known issue with audio as is
explained in comment #14 above. Please test the -proposed kernel and let
us know of any issues that you find.
