Immediately after login watchdog soft-lock cpu (x) occurs. Attempted
different desktop environment, reinstalling and reconfiguring lightdm,
logging in from shell and updating. Nothing that I've tried has able to
get me logged into a desktop environment since I get a CPU lockup
If there's any more info that would be helpful, please let me know and
I'll do my best to get it and add it to this report.

Yes, i had to fiddle around quite a lot with the package manager to get
everything going again and it all works now (the apport information
above is from after the upgrade).
That doesn't change the fact that a do-release-upgrade shouldn't just
fail in the middle and give up. In my opinion, it shou
