Seeing this on Kubuntu 18.04 too. The haveged work around worked
yesterday, but this morning I had to go back to 4.13 - the only previous
kernel I have installed.

Has to be the right shift key on my 18.04lts system, but I've always
just used tapping the Esc key immediately after post until the grub menu
comes up. I explained earlier how to remove the .24 kernel. But don't
try to remove the one you are running at the time. Not sure what would
happen then.

regarding you no longer have the hardware. For future reference you can
manage the status of your own bugs by clicking on the current status in

This requires CONFIG_BLK_DEV_IO_TRACE to be enabled in the kernel.
However as this is for debugging purpose in some rare cases, we decided
to disable this test for KVM kernel.

After a bit of testing the power management seems to be better but it is far
away from perfect. I don't see any anomaly watching temperature sensors
(instead of ath10k_hwmon-pci(?!??)) but my notebook is definitely warm if I
hold it on my lap.
This is more better on win10, I don't know

I only installed ubuntu on this computer (big big big mistake) I do not
have the grub menu at start.
After typing many commands which I did not understand ubuntu started. I
have lost the sound however and now I am afraid to turn it off. If I
run:
dpkg -l | g
Same problem: Lenovo Z50, Radeon R6 R7 graphics, AMD FX 7500 CPU. The
bug is definitely corresponds to the new Ubuntu version because the
previously 16.04 version worked almost smoothly. (I changed it because
of very slow boot process - it is a bit faster in 18.04).

AFAIK it not longer loses the Internet connection itself, but if I
unplug the ethernet cable then the network manager becomes red and not
any Internet connection is detected anymore when I re-connect the
ethernet cable. Only a restart makes the network manager to get the
normal color and to detect
Is there an estimate for when users will receive the SRU? (Which was
submitted on 2018-06-29). So far I've seen 8 separate questions on
askubuntu.com which match this bug. Poke :-).
