i don't know if this question has been answered but here it goes.
my laptop suffers with the intel-spi problem cant save bios settings, cant boot
by any form.
at the time i only could boot to ubuntu (i had dual boot with win10) and i used
one key recovery and i recovered windows but made boot
I got similar issue, the kernel encountered NULL dereference to null

I have the same issue.
yes 4.4.0-109 and 4.14.13 solved both this issue then after upgrade wifi and
other devices cannt be found anymore...

I can confirm that upgrading nvidia to 387.34 does the trick!

The same happens with driver 340 and 384. Older kernels work fine.
For now I have disabled nvidia's driver, and the open-sourced driver works.

Tested with 4.4.0-109 lowlatency kernel, this dev test can pass now.

Maybe, the device is similar to ours, but they were able to get some
movement from the touchpad and we dont.
I collected some logs (sorry, i dont have ubuntu now, i tried again with
mainline kernel).

the following upstream patch seems like a likely fix:

otherwise, reverting the buggy commit seems to solve the issue as well
