I propose to change the following kernel build options:
CONFIG_MAGIC_SYSRQ=y
CONFIG_MAGIC_SYSRQ_DEFAULT_ENABLE=0x1
Or write
kernel.sysrq = 1
to /etc/systl.d/99-sysctl.conf (/etc/sysctl.conf)
It will enable full SysRq, and the combination
alt+SysRq+R,F will force oom_killer

Hello Joseph!
I remember the Bluetooth used to work correctly when I first installed
Ubuntu on my laptop, but unfortunately I cannot tell after which update
it ceased to work because I have not been using the Bluetooth for a long
time.
A compromise solution would be to use an external USB Blue
4.4.0-1002.2 - aws

So i did the bisecting as you described (thanks for that!) and I hope that i
did everything right. For the questions during the config i always just pressed
enter so that the default choice is used.
It's the first time i did this so please be skeptical with my findings!
