So we tested both Huawei driver 2.1.0.40+patch on 4.10.0-26-generic
(from the repo), and 4.10.0-25.29+lp1701316v201707070815 (which includes
2.1.0.28), and both work (at least mkfs.xfs, and loop jillrouleau
mentioned above).

Answering first to note 5, yes.
All the times that kernel 4.4.0-83 crashed, the problem goes away if I boot my
previous kernel 4.4.0-81.
kernel 4.4.0-83.106 does not crash during all the boots. Only some
times. I could not figure out if they are related to cold/hot boots (in
the morning always su

Starting libreoffice -base in the terminal causes no message. The
program appears and ends without any message as soon as you start any
action.
