I've tested this on ppc64el (Power8) Xenial. Everything worked as
expected.

Hello John, or anyone else affected,
Accepted golang-1.6 into xenial-proposed. The package will build now and
be available at
https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/golang-1.6/1.6.2-0ubuntu5~16.04.3
in a few hours, and then in the -proposed repository.
Please help us by testing this new package. S
With the sysctl net.ipv6.conf.all.disable_ipv6=1 we have still seen
another kernel error as follows:
[97989.224382] [ cut here ]
[97989.224395] WARNING: CPU: 1 PID: 19570 at

The fix for this has been accepted and is in linux-next commit
62e62ffd95539b9220894a7900a619e0f3ef4756.

I have verified the kernels from {xenial, yakkety, zesty,
artful}-proposed and they do fix the problem.
