I would like to say I have plain old Sony earbuds, and the sound is very
noticeable without playing any sound what so ever. As previously

I think I observe a very similar issue on ubuntu 16.04, only in my case
mouse reaction to touchpad is very laggy and jumpy/choppy. It started
after one of the recent kernel updates. For me linux-
image-4.4.0-72-generic seems to work fine with default kernel options,

I installed the kernel with the fix from zesty-proposed
(4.10.0-22-generic #24-Ubuntu), but after ~4 hours of uptime on that
kernel, I hit what felt like the same system lockup again. (Or perhaps
a new version of this lockup that the patch introduces / leaves
unfixed?)

This request is to enable Matrox driver and backport the enablement
paatch from 4.11 kernel to 4.10 kernel for Ubuntu 16.04.3.
