Sorry, no I don't recall.
I do however have a second machine running xenial rather than yakkety
that I'm yet to test. So that might help...
Unfortunately I've also changed machines between it last working and
now. So this might be a USB hardware fault but I struggle to see how

There isn't a kernel in proposed at the moment, but I've tested using
the latest in yakkety and it seems to be working fine.
I don't have a simple replication case for the bug, unfortunately. It
just seems to happen for (hand-wavey guess) 50% of boots.

We had installed the mainline kernel on two machines and tested it again.
The issue still remains. One of the two machines get slow, lost the drdb
connection en begin to hang.
The other machine works fine (just like before).
