I have been running for a few days with MTU=automatic (1500) on Ubuntu
16.04 with kernel 4.4.0-38-generic with no overrun errors. I didn't try
with any kernels between 4.4.0-21 and 4.4.0-38, so I don't know at which
update it would have begun to work, but it appears to be fixed.

We've been carrying a revert (Revert "powerpc: Simplify module TOC
handling") since 4.6 because of FTBS. It is a possible candidate for
this symbol resolution issue. Please try a test kernel from

the ppa:ci-train-ppa-service/stable-phone-overlay (update/upgrade), then you
can simply apt-get install unity8-desktop-session-mir. Once that is installed,

snap core / unity-session 8 snaps and running it under snap-confine -
now, how can i recreate the unity-session8 binary locally? I want a
vanilla linux elf executable that i can run on a vanilla ubuntu classic
