Removing Nvidia and AMD microcode got me bootable on mainline. I tried,
4.6.1, 4.6rc7, 4.7rc1, 4.7rc2. Each hand different errors and crashes
for unrelated things, however each did not resolve network issues. DMESG
was roughly the same as previous, minus the addition of not having AMD
Craig G, unfortunately no because apport doesn't include useful data
when using a non-default Ubuntu kernel. It would be best to do to as

After removing 4.7, and Nvidia drivers, then reinstalling 4.7. the
result is similar. While I did not get an error during install, the boot
failed with an exit the ASH. From what I gathered, The only thing
displayed was something about AMD-VI with a bunch of hex codes on many
lines. S
I'm not sure I would say it worked well, but it did fix one of two
problems. The second was only fixed after both driver and firmware
upgrades. I'm no longer running the 19.ucode version. Would apport
data for the 21 version with the updated driver be useful?

I appreciate this might be a template message but "buggy, insecure and
outdated" aren't tremendously useful perjorarives to include. Pass the
blame if you want, but the fact remains this is a regression from previous
releases of Ubuntu.

None of the links you provided support your claim that my BIOS is
insecure or buggy. Have you tried actually reading the stuff you copy
and paste every day?
I would further point out that the last update for this system was
released in 2010, at least four years before this bug was introduced.

the actual 4.7 rc1 doesnt work on my pc, it gives a socket error and the PC
dies not start at all.
