I can confirm this issue on a Thinkpad T420, both on a freshly installed
Ubuntu 14.10 and Kubuntu 14.10.
It first occured shortly (but not immediately) after enabling the

Running YCSB workload on MongoDB on Ubuntu
Just to confirm - apport collected information refers to 3.16.0-23 -
there is no issue with this kernel version. The problem is specific to
3.16.0-28. But since that version fails during boot it is not possible
to collect the apport information for the broken version.
