i too am affected by this bug, I am running kernel 3.13.0-37-generic
within Xubuntu and get the same error when trying to mount a cifs share
that mounts just fine using kernel 3.13.0-35-generic. When can we expect

I've a X220 with 14.04 and I'm facing the above problem aswell. In my
setup I do have a docking station with an external monitor hooked up.
Undocking my notebook darkens the notebook screen. Docking it again
gives normal brightness and "undocking" again gives again regular
brightness. So the proble

I can confirm that reverting the patch John Johansen mentioned makes
docker.io work as well as in previous releases. We will have this fixed
before 14.10 release.

I'd like to perform a reverse bisect to figure out which commit upstream
fixes this regression. It would be very helpful to know the last kernel
that had this issue and the first kernel that did not.
