So unless Broadcom release the sources for the driver, it will not be
included in the kernel?
FYI the description mentions laptops, i received this Wifi card in the
ASROCK Z87E-ITX motherboard, other ASROCK wifi included motherboards may
also include this broadcom wifi card.

I did a little more testing.
root@virt:~# uname -r

Actually the hanging seams to happen only when the overlayfs parts are on the
logical volume being the snapshot source.
Let's say /opt is a logical volume in the volume group virt.
Case 1 (hanging):
mkdir /opt/test/
cd /opt/t
I had the same issue on a Lenovo Thinkcentre 93p Tiny running Ubuntu
14.04 x64, but the latest kernel update (3.13.0-32.57) seems to have
fixed this.
