My WIFI card (Intel AC7260) looses connectivity every 15-45 minutes. The
network applet shows that I'm still connected to the WLAN but no packets
can be send. When I disconnect and reconnect in the applet it works
again.

I did some further testing. Running Ubuntu LTS 14.04 as a domU doesn't

It turns out removing the linux-image-3.2.0-64-generic package (this
also requires to remove linux-image-generic) afterwards gave an error
message and my /vmlinuz file was gone.
Marking the linux-image-3.2.0-63-generic for reinstall in synaptic and
reinstalling it recreated the files and terminate

Just now I am running upstream 3.15-rc7 kernel, no load, watch sensors
gives me temperatures between 38 and 40 degree celsius and the fan runs
for approx 6 seconds , stops for 1 second and so on.
