There is no switch in my BIOS to disable the discrete graphics card, so
no, this is no option.
And with seeing the changes that are coming up in Kernel 1.12 and 1.13,
where VGAswitcheroo is to be ignored I don't know if it's worth the
trouble.
But disabling the graphics-card with an upstart-job i
christian, on 13.10 (this also works on earlier versions), please
install the "evtest" package and use "sudo evtest". This lets you choose
your input device and basically gives the same information, but is a tad
easier to use.

I spoke too soon - had to go back to 3.8.0-29 to get it to work again,
but now the ath9k module doesn't always load on startup and inserting it
does not fix the issue. After rebooting a couple of times to .29 OR
3.18.13-03081307 it works again...

My wireless does not work after the installation of Ubuntu 12.04.
I tried to install the Broatcom driver following the instructions
of http://www.broadcom.com/docs/linux_sta/README.txt

With 3.8.0-31-lowlatency, try this if you're willing to reboot:
rmmod zram; modprobe zram; echo -n 6710 > /sys/block/zram0/disksize;
mkswap /dev/zram0; dmesg -T | tail
It will bring you into a state where you can't rmmod zram (!).
# rmmod zram

I just bought this laptop and I can confirm that the problem is still
there with the last version of the kernel... I'm on the last version of
the bios A02 and (hoping that it is useful) this is my xinput --list
