-rc4 freezes hard immediately on boot-up, it never gets past "loading
initial ramdisk". Modesetting never kicks in. Sysrq+reisub does nothing,

Apple has zero interest in fixing the legacy BIOS. Therefore I assume they will

update the Ubuntu MacBook Air wiki on
https://help.ubuntu.com/community/MacBookAir with details linking to use
of UEFI install.
The Mac does not require secure boot. There is no loss of
