Update: downgraded to kmail 4.10.1, still not working. So it seems something

Just tried this patch on 18.04.01; it improves the situation but it is not
perfect.
Basically now what happens is that when you click on a note titlebar, no matter

The problem is that the issue is not reproducible but happens randomly. Right
