Gmail also has POP access too. That's what I use so that I can have

I'm on Gentoo but they should be all the same. Mine is on the Desktop
or in /home//Desktop. Like this:

puter. I've done that a few times and it comes in
handy.

Just keep in mind the two are different. KDE is set to power off my
monitor after a hour. The settings for xorg cuts my monitor off after
about 5 minutes or so.
Also, when in KDE, make sure you run the settings/configure program as
your user you are logged in as.
If I am misunderstanding the iss

ps aux | grep kdesu
I then just kill the process that shows up. Sometimes if I do it fast
enough, it pops up.

For command: "kfmclient openProfile filemanagement" and then I set it
to run as user root under advanced. It works even after the upgrade and
has worked for quite a while now.

with printing from a web browser. I sometimes print whole web pages,
selected parts and even to a pdf at times. No problems so far.

I'm using KDE 4.6 and I just right click on the clock thingy and select
settings. In that under Appearance on the left and Information on the
right, just check the box for Show Date. Just typing it in but this is
sort of what mine looks like:
