+1 to that Compiled kde 4.2 from ports. Took a lon time, but I have not seen any issues yet. There is definitely an improvement. KDE 4.2 seems much more responsive! I had only 1 obstacle on the way and that was when it came to compiling a dependency (mpeg4ip), whoever maintains this has

I'm running 7.1-STABLE/Xorg 7.4/KDE 4.2 on two systems, have the following minor problems. (1) Xorg 7.4 depends on hald and dbus; if kdm is started from /etc/ttys in the normal way hald/dbus don't work correctly and the keyboard/mouse are not detected. I'm starting kdm after logging in as roo
