Hi,
I've tried installing KDE4 from area51, but stumbled upon some build errors.
- x11/kdebase4 (4.0.83) : 'Plasma' undeclared at
/apps/plasma/applets/folderview/folderview.cpp:683
- x11/kdebase-runtime (4.0.83) (when installing x11/kde4 despite the above
error) :

Hi all,
well so far most all apps for kde4 have been built and installed
without any more errors.
However, has anyone solved the problem yet with booting or
firing up of kde4?
I starts and takes ages to come to what I call the "black screen
of death" and hangs there forever and a day and only

Hi all,
it looks like kdelibs now needs the multimedia/phonon port to build and the
pkg-plist needs changing to reflect this.
Diff here:

Hi,
Is anyone else running freebsd-current with kde3 (and has rebuilt both
recently)? I can only suspect this is related to recent changes in
current in prep for mpsafe tty, but in konsole, the defaults turn out to be

Ran into some problems trying to compile phonon on a fresh system here,
turns out ${LOCALBASE}/include was not in the list of cmake header
directories to include. I've fixed this in the Makefile attached.

Dealing with (wonderful) dtrace I discovered a lot of errors caused by
hald-addon-mouse-sysmouse.
Following instructions at point 2 in this page
http://www.freebsd.org/gnome/docs/halfaq.html I disabled the mouse
probe and kde4 speeds up.
Could someone tests this workaround?
That's the content of M

Here's the Makefile to have kdelibs4 fix CMakeLists.txt to use
${LOCALBASE}/include.

Aside from the include prefix problem we are having, the
kdebase-workspace port needed some fixing for 4.0.83. Attached are two
new patch files updated for 4.0.83, and we are able to remove one old
one also. If somebody could commit these, that would be great :)

It will not cause any changes on the other branches. I'll commit this
patch when I arrive at the office. Thanks!

With the GraphicsMagick update, koffice got its PORTREVISION bumped.
Anyhow, koffice seems to depend on the old GraphicsMagick API -- I got
the same error as described here: http://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=161770
