I agree, there is something wrong with dbus. Sometimes an application just
hangs (Konqueror mostly). When I try to do something else, like start a
program with alt+f2, I get:
"KLauncher could not be reached via D-Bus. Error when calling
start_service_by_desktop_path:
empty"

Things have been running quite well for me in 4.1 since I added the
QT_NO_GLIB env variable that was mentioned on the list a week or so

I am experiencing so many performance problems, I dont even know where to
start :(
Certain things are almost always slow:
- opening config dialog for any kde-app
Other things slow down randomly:
- application startup
- menus
- kmail in general
- konqueror in general

Several of our users are reporting it, and I've seen it here as well. It
seems like sometimes KDE will just take a LONG time to start processes,
or startf programs. "top" doesn't show anything using CPU, so I know the
systems aren't busy.
