The problem was with deadkeys keymap. When using french qwerty with deadkey
keymap, I have this behavior. If I select US international with Altgr deadkey I

It happens 100% of time when brush size is > 500px. Doing this with a smaller
brush won't crash but instead any change to brush settings (from brush settings
window or toolbar) will be very slow.

Yes, the game changes the resolution.
In 1920x1080, the screen changes to the resolution of 1280x1024.
And vice versa when returning to the kde desktop! That's when I see the error.
