Sometimes when disabling the effect and adding a second version of the Position
and Zoom effect I can get it to display right, behaviour seems random though
and hard to reproduce consistently.

I've tested with every nightly build since, all with the same problematic
result :(

I did another test on a different computer with exactly the same specs and OS
(Ubuntu 18.04.03 LTS) yet this time the file renders as expected! There appears
to be some strange rendering problem on my system which also
