The "View -> Trim View -> Trim To Selection" item is not selected.
I would like to add one more thing:
1. I had the same problem in Ubuntu 18.04.

Here is the .psd file that causes the distorted image when imported using
Krita 5.1.1 or Krita 5.1.3
This file opens fine in Krita 4.something

Ok so I just saw that bug was on OSX, unfortunately I'm no longer running OSX,
but a debian 10 system so cannot confirm it has disappear from OSXsorry
