Agreed, this and the burning-windows feature are great distiguishing
effects, and should be re-integrated since they are working again.

There is a package available in AUR (there are actually 2, but this one is for
Plasma5): https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/kwin-effects-cube
I easily built and installed it, and have been using it for many weeks
