It has taken me a long time to get updated to Mint 20.2, I had lots of
difficulties and finally had to do a clean install. Everything is now
reinstalled and I have been able to test the original fault

I find I am running V7.5 and I also have V6.0 installed :-(
Can you advise how to uninstall the V6.0 copy? I have searched but cannot find
a way to o it.
I will then test again using V7.5

I have uninstalled both V6 and V7.5 because V7.5 would not run after V6 was
uninstalled.
Have tried a Snap install - does not run.
Have tried an Appimage install of V7.5 from your website. I have the file in a

OK, I made the V7.6 file Executable and run it, got lots of errors:

Now I have a good idea what to do! I am running Mint 19.3 with the latest
kernel: 5.4.0-97 so I guess I have to upgrade to Mint 20.x if I want to run
Digikam 7.6.

I have tried it but the results are inconclusive so I think I need to delete
the recognition database - how can I do that? I had the options selected as in
the attached image:

I have removed the recognition db and re-run the scan but I am still puzzled by
the results. In trying to name the face images I am wondering about the blue
'+' and red 'x' symbols in the dial

Tried V 5.9.0 as suggested.
Scanning now works OK.
But manual face naming, editing and auto face recognition are a disaster!
Features that worked perfectly in V4.12 are now simply rubbish.
