Hello.
The KDE site has a size restriction of 4MB for attachments. So I managed
to select a DNG file that was small. But lots of my DNG files are marked
as TIFF, even though they have a size of about 10 MB.

The new DigiKam digiKam-8.5.0-20240829T162145-Qt6-Win64-debug.exe does
what it should to my DNG photos, fully sized or lossy compressed. Only,
it still marks the lossy compressed DNGs as “TIFF” in the

You're right. I hoped the reinstallation would take care of that. After
re-reading metadata, digiKam now works beautifully.

I now have tried out DNG-conversion from CR2 to DNG, using DigiKam
8.7.0. on Windows 11 and using Adobe DNG Converter for comparison.

You are right, the image quality of Adobe Converter and DigiKam is
roughly equivalent. I fed the same CR2 files into both apps without much

About the speed of Adobe conversion, I can only say it is impressive,
not how it is attained.
