Also it only affects the initial connection. If connection is established while

It looks like the issue is that your icon theme lacks support for those icons,
so Qt decided to show text instead to avoid the buttons being blank.

Yes, we can do custom CSS but as far as I;m aware, it won't update at runtime
like we currently have; you'll need to restart your GTK apps to see changes.

Oh, the window state is stored in ~/.local/share/dolphin/dolphinstaterc
nowadays. Nice.
Can you open that file in Kate, open Dolphin, resize its window, quit Dolphin,
and go back to Kate? See if anything changed.
