If clicking the clock would display the full time, then I think the hover
wouldn't be necessary, and might look messy when it triggers by accident.

The question was rather whether you would be ok with only having seconds shown
in the calendar applet or whether you'd prefer to (also) have them in the
tooltip when hovering.

If hovering would still allow the time (with seconds) to be updated live then
