No. Meta alone does not work either. I attached a screenshot with what I see
when trying to assing Meta+2 shortcut. Moreover Meta+Alt+2 used to work yet

As far as I know, somewhere in the stack "Meta" is a shortcut for
"Ctrl+Alt+Shift" (legacy?). So "Meta+Alt" would not work, but "Meta" alone
should work.
Can you confirm?
