I'll try that - thanks. It turns out that right-clicking the file to decrypt
works fine so fortunately I now have a workaround. Appreciate the quick
response.

You can try to remove ~/.config/kleopatrarc to reset kleopatra's window states.
For more advice I would need to know the version / operating system you use.
