Dragging and dropping from Kate -> Anki is also working for me. I did the
folowing:
- Open kate, write some text
- Open Anki, Click "Add" - card add dialog opens
- Select text in kate and drag it to Anki
- Drop text

I checked on Plasma 5.20.4
KDE Frameworks Version: 5.76.0
Qt Version: 5.15.2
and it works fine for Kate to Kate or Kate to Firefox but doesn't for Kate to
Anki.
This is strange because I can drag & drop text from Firefox
