In digiKam-8.5.0 you have the option to deactivate hardware acceleration for
video in the digiKam settings under Miscellaneous-> System. The video will then
play without an error message.

I also can't reproduce a crash on a second computer.
Please try again with "Force Software OpenGL" in the digiKam Settings under
Miscellaneous-> System (requires restart of digiKam).
