OK then it seems after using your suggestion there is an issue with volume
level changing when turning the device off and then on again. Also I am unable
to get the correct max volume again.

Is there a way to get the volume level using bluetoothctl? so I can isolate the
problem with the volume level.

I've tried this, same issue.
Once the headset is trusted, paired and connected, when I turn off the headset
and then turn it on, the connection takes place but the volume is lower.
Using bluetoothctl, I then disc

This is most probably issue in BlueZ. You can confirm it by removing your audio
device from known devices, disabling Plasma Bluetooth integration (from KCM
Bluetooth -> Advanced) and then trying to connect to the devi
