I think it's probably something in the name. The file begins with a number but
when I renamed it to a usual name there's no problem.
It would be nice if there was a warning of some kind. I have reported on

I think but haven't tried, that if the ? comes first it might give a warning.
My question marks aren't at the beginning of the file name.

I just tried with the appimage I believe it is Version 20.12.3. Let's me import
without any warnings and just doesn't allow me to resize the image at all.

I reported a bug specifically related to having a colon in the filename and
that seemed to be resolved so it's not supposed to be the colon that is the
problem

Seems to save and open up without any problems. The image file with a colon in
the title appears as expected without any reference to "invalid" or anything
out of the ordinary.
